Task Creating a Mobile App with sounds that calm babies and help them fall asleep
We looked at baby-related apps currently on the market, and concluded that they all look and feel as if a baby would use them. I decided to create an app for the actual user - the stressed-out parent who wants to calm a crying baby.
Solutions
The experience should be extremely intuitive and not make the tired parents think. Also they need a customizable short cut that works, a one click way to the sound that works best for their baby.
To give the parents a playful and engaging feature, I created the function for mixing sounds with each other in a very easy way (young babies prefer noises to what we perceive as a melody).
Many parents travel a lot, and are not able to talk to their baby every day, so we also added a record function where parents can record their own voice or sounds.
